Learn to Sing In Harmony Course
Capital Chorus will be running another of its successful "Learn To Sing In Harmony" courses at the start of 2017. In recent years, over 100 men have discovered their voices and gained an insight into the world of four-part harmony.
This new course starts on January 16th and will run for five consecutive Monday evenings between 7.45 and 10.15pm. Please register your interest using the form below and we will contact you with further details. The course will cost £15, which includes all learning materials such as sheet music and audio teach tracks.
Who is the course for?
It's for men, young or old, who'd like to sing with others. We cater for all levels of experience, so whether you’ve been in a choir before or simply enjoy singing in the shower, you’ll be very welcome. Our songs are pitched in the male barbershop range, and we'll be happy to direct women towards other choruses with similar courses for female voices.
What will I learn?
Over the five weeks we'll learn two complete songs in four-part harmony. Along the way you'll pick up tips to improve your singing, your breathing and the ways in which you can project your voice. At the end of the course you'll have the opportunity to perform to family and friends, and impress them with your new-found skills.
How will I know which part to sing?
We'll listen to your voice and help you find the part that's right for you, whether tenor, lead, baritone or bass.
Do I need to read music?
It can be useful, but it's not necessary. We'll provide all your learning materials, including audio teach-tracks which help you learn your part by listening and singing along at home.
Will I need to bring anything else?
Just your voice and your enthusiasm, oh - and a bottle of water can come in handy to to keep those vocal chords nicely lubricated.
What does it cost?
We have to make a one-off charge of £15 to cover our costs, but this covers everything for the entire five weeks.
What if I get bored, or worse, can't cope?
No danger of either. We believe harmony singing is one of the most exciting and enjoyable hobbies ever devised. We're looking forward to showing you what we mean, and the good news is that almost everyone can sing, whether or not they know it.
